More Details
In their newest show, the Kinsey gals are morning news show anchorwomen and you're invited to be part of their studio audience. Come see the Kinsey Sicks put the "ew" in "The View."
For nearly 15 years, The Kinsey Sicks, "America's Favorite Dragapella Beautyshop Quartet," have served up a feast of music and comedy to audiences across the United States and internationally. Combining award-winning a cappella singing, sharp satire and over-the-top drag, The Kinsey Sicks have developed a large and loyal following. In 2001, the girls produced and starred in their critically acclaimed Off-Broadway hit, Dragapella! Starring the Kinsey Sicks at New York's legendary Studio 54. That production received a nomination for a Lucille Lortel award (the Off-Broadway Tony) as Best Musical of 2001 and wowed audiences with a much-coveted extended run at the Las Vegas Hilton.
The Theater Offensive
The Theater Offensive has driven its ambitious programming to the cutting edge of queer culture and politics for more than 16 years. Grounded in a commitment to build an activist-based artistic forum, the theater's groundbreaking programming has become a vital arena for the unique voices of diverse queer cultures, and has led to lasting coalitions between the varied communities under the queer umbrella.
The Theater Offensive accomplishes this work through meaningful ongoing relationships with a range of arts and organizing initiatives locally and throughout the country, and by using any and all cultural tools to make a difference in the minds, hearts, and libidos of the queer and straight communities.
It is a commitment to debunking assumptions both from inside and outside the queer communities that directs all Theater Offensive work. The work provokes vibrant discussion about the realities of being lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered. Through social gatherings, soirees, workshops, and post-show discussions, the organization transcends traditional theater boundaries and opens new avenues of understanding, awareness and inclusion within queer communities as well as outside them. At the basis of all of the work is a commitment to presenting honest and accurate artistic images of queer lives from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
